Each year, the NCPTW experience includes social events where conference attendees can interact and explore the local area (Ice Cream Social at Hofstra, Museum of Glass in Tacoma). For this year’s conference on South Padre Island, Texas, we’re going to take a slightly different approach.

Rather than a single event, we’re organizing various mini “excursions” that show off the range and diversity of the Rio Grande Valley. This border region is diverse and juxtaposed, with expansive citrus groves and subtropical forests, sprawling suburban cities and isolated but neighborly colonias, public high school stadiums that rival those at some of your universities and private ranches larger then some states.

Excursions will take place the later afternoon/evening of Friday, November 2. Of course, If you’d prefer to spend that time swimming, paddle boarding, fishing or otherwise relaxing on South Padre Island, you’re welcome to do that, as well! Planned excursions include:
