I’m a huge believer in having students allow languages to work together rather than in competition, but I may have overlooked letter writing as a vehicle for translanguaging. It will be riveting to learn about Eduardo Mabilog’s use of letter writing as a tool to empower the many different languages of tutees and to migrate towards a more inclusive writing center experience.
Eduardo’s session (session G.3, Saturday @ 3:20-4:35PM) is on the top of my “Must Hear” presentation list. I’m looking forward to learning his unique approach to what sounds like an incredibly powerful cognitive strategy.
